Vlogging Time: Surprise Campout, Marriage And Disability, Life Stuff And Aging in Place

Yay, a Surprise Campout, and life vlog time. One ongoing, topic is the issue regarding hiring new personal care attendants because a regular one declares they will be leaving us for 2-4. weeks, once or twice a year. ever since her first year. The challenge of hiring new care givers has been unique to say the least. I share why we seem to keep hiring attendants with not much scrutiny. It, what happens when you foolishly let an employee breach the Employee Agreement protocols. You end up having annual and now biannual anxiety attacks, afraid of having no one to hire. Compromises get made and we end up not finding keepers.

Our model employee hired over 13 years ago, and who returned to help while we hire recently, knew every summer she had to go away for 2 weeks so the first year, so she respectfully resigned far in advance. Respecting her decision, because she understood she could  not expect to hold the position due to the length of time asked off. Due to her decency and. honouring her employer's protocols, she ended up working for us for over ten years and I accepter her help when I was short staffed, so she was always. able to leave for 2 weeks every summer. It always worked out.

Thanks to God giving. me insight, it is all clear why these past few years have been so compromised and mega stressful with worry. Hiring where we live takes lead time and you want employees who respect an follow the protocols they agreed to in their Agreement. My fault for being to intimidated to be more star about chunks of time off when you are the only one or main one. Especially when employment had just began.

God knows and hears, sees all things. I am trusting in His care.'

Have any of you had these issues regarding hiring care dealing with hire care givers who disregard employee agreements? How did you handle it.

Hope you got something out of this vlog when you see it.

Worlds Collide: Hope In Dark Times And Not

We decided to share how we handle tough times like what the entire world has been going. Self isolation, unable to see family and friends. For those with fragile health, fear of getting ill tries weighing us down. We will be intermittently sharing special Bible Verses to hopefully inspire and encore fellow believers and those who are desperate to know, why are we on this planet. We can have peace in our heart no matter what things may look like. This passage is primarily directed toward fellow believers. We are to encourage each other always. So here is a short video.

Corona Virus Crises Concerns: Depending On Others

Hello world! This is the first time in our life that the entire world is in sync. All because of a new virus that is from the Corona virus strain. It is called Covid-19. Apparently it is always changing, I believe the term used these days is, "fluid." Based on our initial research and the concerns we have as person who are a part of the vulnerable population, trying to trust the media we made a video from that perspective right here.

Be Encouraged: Owning Your Weakness And Forgiveness - Joni Eareckson Tada Message Share

This posting was just shared on our Sure Hope Gazette blog. Since these videos and this dear godly woman, my earthly hero, speaks from experience and pertains to our lives, it makes sense to share her message on this blog as well. We can only face each day because of our Saviour, our heart is that anyone who want to know about the Sure Hope we can all have, will get a lot out Joni's words.

And please don't think this message is only beneficial for persons living with physical disabilities. Not at all, this message is great for all of us. You may think, oh that's Joni, the lady who broke her neck in 1967 when she was 17. She's the lady who inspires people living with disabilities. That's great for them, but, I don't need to listen - it's not for me because I don't have a disability.
Well, we would ask you if you do think like that, please think again. Joni's message is always a powerful one to all people. Whatever you may struggle with or however you may feel, god blesses this amazing woman with a heart that shares the love of Christ. She encourages me, and millions of others. And we want to share more messages from her as we receive them to help inspire and motivate, spur on anyone who's heart longs for meaning, Sure Hope and New Life. Including seeing that quality of life is not about whether or not your body works, you are healthy or rich, successful as the world sees successful, come and hear what real Sure Hope is all about, from a woman who knows what of what she speaks.

The cool thing as often happens in my life, is how God has an amazing way of encouraging us just at the right moment, right when we need it. He knows what we need, when we need it. Today, He knew I needed to hear from my earthly hero who speaks about my Heavenly Hero, Jesus Christ. How our weaknesses really are our strengths because of Him. close to Him.  He cares about all aspects of our lives.

Walking Wouldn't Be So Overrated If We Didn't Have Sure Hope

As you know we have called this blog, Walking, Way Overrated wanting to encourage anyone out here, that using a weelchair for legs is a pretty unique experience, that for us, walking is overrated. We both have walked, so we have some idea what is like to have functioning legs. And I know what it is like to get to walk with some limitations due to progressive muscle atrophying/wasting. But Craig, his legs were good and strong until he was in his thirties, he is turning sixty - five this year.
Sure Hope
Now we want to make it clear that even though we may make light of not walking, we want you to know that doesn't mean we are not empathetic towards those struggling with new disabilities caused by an accident, illness, or diagnosis like mine. We may have a smile on our face but it doesn't mean we don't have difficulties. Of course we do. Especially as we are aging, we are both encountering the consequences of that process with the disabilities that we have. I am not going to talk about  all these struggles, unless I feel it would be beneficial. What we want make clear is that we would never be able to say "Walking Is Way Overrated," and mean it, if it wasn't for our Sure Hope. Our Sure Hope is in or Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. That is why we have another blog. A part from Jesus Christ, we wouldn't be able to face each day with love and hope in our hearts!

We love you too!

I Stand In Awe...

If it wasn't for the Lord Our God, I wouldn't be able to be on this earth. Today, we were watching a debate, while I worked on a polymer clay figure (3rd attempt). This debate was with Kent Hovind a fellow believer and a University Professor named Dr. Rainbow. I wanted to share this because of how I was moved as I listened and was reminded how Awesome and Wondrous our God is. I really do Stand in Awe, even if I sit down literally. The question of creation versus evolution theory for us, is
not up for debate. However, when people try, God's Truth shines even more brighter. The arguments for a Godless creation/evolution makes no sense, even when I once thought God evolved it all. He really makes all things possible and I wanted to share the link to this debate and God's Mighty Word.

Walking would not be way overrated for us, if it wasn't for HIM!

[Psa 33:1-9 KJV] 1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: [for] praise is comely for the upright. 2 Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery [and] an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. 4 For the word of the LORD [is] right; and all his works [are done] in truth. 5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. 6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it stood fast.
[Psa 4:3-5 KJV] 3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. 4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

Life -Not Up For Debate: part #1

It saddens me to think that in this day and age we actually have to fight, to protect human life. The justification to end life due to progressive disability diagnosis, inconvenient pregnancies, or for so called merciful purposes, just spins my head. To think that there are fellow humans, that live amongst us who actually believe human life is something we have the right to distinguish. No regard for God's creation and purposes. No regard for my peers who live with many of these same diseases or diagnosis,' that others want to be killed because of.

The phrase "Dying with Dignity," is often used as an excuse to justify the "cause." What many seem to be ignorant of is that it takes far more dignity to live out a difficult life, than to just snuff it out. That is the easy way out.
My husband lives in extreme pain, and never ever would he try to end his life. Yes, he asks God to heal him from it, or to help him endure it and at times, just like myself... asks God to please take him to Heaven now! (Depending on how bad the pain is.) Of course, it isn't a pleasure living with pain and suffering and we fully understand the desire to end the pain. At the same time, we know that purposely causing your own death is wrong. It goes against everything God teaches us. In fact, it is during those difficult times that we lean on the Lord our God, with more might that on not so bad days. Learning to depend fully on the One who created us, no matter what it takes, is worth more than I can ever say. Again, yes, there are times we may ask God to remove us from this ailing body, but when He doesn't, we trust that He is caring for us. That He allows these struggles for His Higher purposes.
[2Co 12:7-10 NLT] 7 even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. 8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That's why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

If you are suffering and live with out Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, we guarantee you that the desire to check out or get swallowed up in self pity, will over take you. My husband and I spent the first half of our lives without Christ, and we would never want to live that way again. That includes when we weren't living in chronic physical pain. A part from Him, we would not be able to live life to the fullest with or without physical ailments. You have a choice to make, life with Him or with out Him. He loves you and wants to bear your burdens and may even heal you or your loved ones in pain. You have nothing to lose. Seek Him...

Below is a video I made  talking about the importance of protecting all life. As a person with a progressive neuromuscular disorder as well as growing up with many many friends, living with a range of disabilities, my heart breaks whenever I hear news stories about how those who are fighting with the court system to enable Doctor assisted suicide.
