Road To Healing: No Kisses. The Day We Make Contact. Hanging At The Hospital Cafeteria

At this point it's been a couple of months almost since Craig has been in a hospital bed because of a pressure wound on his backside. Due to our physical disabilities, we can't even kiss or make any physical contact. I can hold his one hand, that's it.

This day, he was able to sit in his wheelchair for up to two hours. So we made the most of it.

So for the first time, we actually get to make physical contact including hanging out at the hospital cafeteria. This day was extra special. He was only allowed one to two hours a day in his chair until recently as you'll see by the newest vlog coming soon

(This video was made for some special folks in our life- I want to share it because it's the only one we took)

Vlog: Under Quarantine . Campout Series - Sleeping In My Wheelchair, = Watching The Sun Rise

Hello World! Hope everyone is staying safe and taking protection seriously no matter how melancholy self quarantining can be. (For me, this is life as usual because I am an artist who loves working at home- but I have emphathized with the world, when we don't have a choice anymore. That's when I feel the
sadness and temptation to slip into self pity and the fear of getting the virus
)
Something that is new to us also, spurred on because of  this worldwide covid shift, yet, would have happened any way, to serve another purpose. When needed and even by choice, I can actually enjoy sleeping in my power tilt wheelchair.

We have vlog/videos that we will be sharing over time. Today, I wanted to share the cool opportnity to go outside at 430am to start watching the sunrise. Due to being in bed, requiring a Personal Care Attendant, and needing to schedule key parts of my life, I do't get to do these kinds of things on a whim. Something that is just part of my life. But being pressed into trying our campout idea, I have discovered great freedom. Even if just once a week, it's so awesome to have that freedom. Yes bed is more comfy, but the trade off is worth it! We even got to go for a star gazing (too much light pollution) walk at 1am! I love it!

To see part one of my early morning sunrise watching adventure there's the v. But first....

Social Distancing Isn't New To Mary and Peter.....
It has definitely been a challenging time over these past months. Unprecedented times. We can all relate to each other to a big degree. The entire world faces self isolation to help stop the spread of Covid-19. . Some countries won't let you leave your home at all. Then there is our realm, we are not to have gatherings of more than five, six feet a part. Ever watch the movie "Five Feet Apart"? Interesting all this happens world wide and this pretty good movie, about how persons living with Cystic Fibrosis can't be physically closer than five feet away from each other. Social distancing for patients with CF, is something they were very familiar with. I don't pretend to know everything but I do know, thanks to a favourite YT Channel called "Frey Life." I highly recommend meeting this amazing couple, Peter and Mary Frey. They share their very real life. As a young married couple living in America. Mary bravely lives life to the fullest with cystic fibrosis and her beloved husband Peter serves God as a Pastor, supportive husband. These guys know how to enjoy life no matter what obstacles arise. Take a look at Mary's art work, they also have a website. When you have cystic fibrosis, you are more susceptible to catching illnesses/infections from fellow cf patients. My disability is also something you are born with, as is cystic fibrosis. But, I can catch illnesses from anyone equally.

Why CF patients are unable to be physically close to each other is  beyond my understanding
If you want to be encouraged and learn about real marriage and life with CF,

ASSSISTIVE DEVICES - From Jumbo Computer to Moderate Tablet

Hi guys. It has been a while. The iMac 27 inch computer that we had/have has been dying a slow
death. Thankfully,  it hasn't died completely. It began flickering off  and on and then crash to a black screen. I panicked, believing it was all over with. But then, for the last few weeks it has  miraculously continued to work and not work. Giving me time to back up documents and research what to do. Which has resulted in the  decision to not purchase another phone computer, be an iMac or PC.  However, after using an Apple iMac for about  seven years from morning until night, I have concluded that I would prefer to stick with Apple products. But wanted to reduce cost and try something new.
 iPad Air 2
I am sitting here  dictating into our new iPad air number two. It is doing a pretty good job at typing out what I am actually saying. Must say,  I am very impressed. No it is not as fast as my old quad core processor. If that's what you call it. But, considering what I needed for these days, this 9 inch lightweight  Device, meets my needs. Something I recommend, is to order a iPad case that folds Into an easel type stand.  Because my muscles are weak, it is easier to touch the screen when it is propped up. Besides, this thin tablet  feels too delicate for clumsy me hold without a case. Cases on eBay.ca can be purchased for under $10 Canadian. I will let you know the quality In 4 to 20 weeks. It is coming from China after all. Cheaper than $50-$80 from Apple. Yes, you get the fans bitten Apple logo, but I would  rather save the money.
Our iMac was 27 inches on purpose, because it was also our  our TV too. We only watch whatever is on like YouTube and Netflix, as well as television network website programs. No longer having the iMac,  meant we had to buy a new flatscreen smart television. According to a young friend our actual TV was ancient or antique.  It was about 1 1/2 feet deep do you know the old fashioned televisions. So we were able to get an iPad air device as well as a new smart TV for half the price Of a iMac 21 1/2 inch screen. Kind of a  relief. This is my first blog using verbal dictation so I am going to end it now. Stay tuned because we have a new log to make, about Craig's  New quickie wheelchair!!

Exciting to see what we can do with this new device. Not just the wheelchair, I mean the iPad which is streaming from our handheld devices. We only had to sign up for Google Cast! That was free!

See you soon!
